lyrics
All the kids on the bench don't double dutch
All the kids on the bench don't hopscotch
All the kids on the bench ride their fancy bikes,
ride their fancy bikes to the river
All the kids on the bench lightin' bonfires
All the kids on the bench count the shooting stars
All the kids on the bench holdin' hands down,
holding hand down on the bike path
All the kids on the bench wearin' blue jeans
All the kids on the bench haulin' sweet dreams
All the kids on the bench movin' their feet
movin' their feet, movin', movin' their feet
They all go oo-oo-oo-oo
shimmy to the left, shimmy to the left, shimmy to the right
All the kids on the bench slingin' jump ropes
All the kids on the bench shootin' gumballs
All the kids on the bench swingin' their hips
swingin' their hips, swingin', swingin' their hips
All the kids on the bench cheat at 7-up
All the kids on the bench hot at freeze tag
All the kids on the bench got the breakdance
pop'n'lock-lock, pop'n'lock, pop'n'lock-lock
All the kids on the bench battle thumb wars
All the kids on the bench with their smart phones
All the kids on the bench with their crazy legs
slidin' with the moonwalk, slidin' with the moonwalk
They all go oo-oo-oo-oo
shimmy to the left, shimmy to the left, shimmy to the right

Respect is a good thing, and they took the time to infuse their love of All Things Heavy in an amazing rock album that reflected their sensibilities. I imagine more than one college student put on Dopesmoker or The Sciences after hearing this, and added a few more ears to our scene. In some small way, I’d like to return the favor. Scott Spiers
